Volunteer Jobs | Volunteers for marine conservation

Saving marine resources has become almost a must in order to save all the precious ingredients of this wonderful thing called “the sea”. It has everything from the biggest animal on earth to the loveliest stone on earth. Therefore wouldn’t it be common sense that we make an effort to preserve these for the future?

Volunteers on marine conservation have made huge leaps in the recent past with their efforts to stop human behavior that destruct marine resources. Majority of these volunteers are sole nature lovers and do not expect anything back for their precious service. Spending their valuable time on preserving marine resources to make up for something negative done by someone else is absolutely generous.

Having said so, they will obviously gain fame on their international involvement in marine conservation. This might even contribute to their professional work as well. Working with a non profitable international organization and working as a team will surely give someone a new perspective to their concepts of working.

They may get involved in working with teams which do all the testing or they may work in educating people about the impacts they make to the sea. Either way these volunteers will gain valuable knowledge and experience.

The beauty in working with marine conservation is that you will get hands on experience with many lovely animals such as dolphins and whales. You may choose your preferred location to join the program. It could be the Indian Ocean or maybe the lovely and warm Pacific Ocean where you may also enjoy a relaxing hour scuba diving. Almost of all of these programs will contain an integration process where they will teach you the basic knowledge needed to get to the next level. Therefore, not to worry, you will not be jumping in to the water without knowing anything.

Getting to deal with turtles in their natural; habitat is one major experience which almost everyone will prefer. It is such an inspiration to deal with these innocent creatures to make a better future for them. You will get an opportunity to share this wonderful experience with family and friends, hence making it automatic knowledge distribution. Not only the turtles, but other marvelous animals will be your friends for the time being. You may even feel in the middle of the program that this is how man is supposed to live. Getting to live closely to other creatures will make you feel special.

With the climate change, global warming and many other parameters, the life for marine fish and plants is not a refreshing one like it used to be. With the activities by the man it has become even worse.

Any loss of biodiversity in the marine world will directly or indirectly affect other species who live on earth. Therefore the attention for marine conservation should be put up with no delay. A contribution can be made by you as a volunteer on marine conservation. Make an effort; put forward your talents and skills to preserve these wonderful marine resources. After all we should be faithful to Mother Nature.

About Us

South Pacific Projects is a marine conservation NGO that operates an eco-tourism funded project in Fiji. Our research and conservation projects are carried out by our overseas volunteers, who work closely with our field research scientists and camp staff.

We are currently looking for overseas volunteers to work at our site in Leleuvia. Our research aims to identify strategies and targets that we can work towards to develop sustainable local environmental management plans for the unique reef systems of the region → Join up today
